Spankings has become a
popular feature in the light BDSM genre recently and Punished certainly has an
abundance throughout it's pages. Natalia has been looking for something in her
life and decides to check out a local club where she can have someone spank
her. Things get interesting when it her boss, Ethan, who winds up being the Dom
who is assigned to give Natalia a spanking.
Ethan has been attracted to
his secretary, Natalia, for a long time, but never did anything about it. When
he realizes that Natalia is the woman he is assigned to spank at the club, it
is no holds bar in their relationship. Ethan can't wait to make Natalia his.
For those who like just a
peak into the BDSM world this book is the one for you. Brynn Paulin fills her
pages with steamy scenes and a lovely love story.
Prim Natalia Cooper lives
life on the straight and narrow, never veering into naughty territory. But she
wants to. One night, years ago, her boyfriend gave her a few swats on the rear
as part of their sex play and she loved it. She wants more. But he's long gone
and she hasn't been spanked since. When she learns of a club where she can get
exactly what she needs—anonymously—she's so turned on and ready she
can hardly bear it.
For Ethan Tavish, The
Dungeon has served as a place to exert his dominance without making lasting
commitments. He can hardly believe his eyes when he enters the play area to
find his secretary, Natalia, bent over the spanking bench in a schoolgirl
uniform. They're both masked, but he'd recognize her anywhere. In an instant,
he has a plan to give them what they both wantÉand perhaps a whole lot more.
About the Author from the
back of her book:
When it comes to books and
movies, Brynn Paulin has one rule: there must be a happy ending. After that one
requirement, anything else goes. And it just might in any of her books.
Brynn lives in Michigan with
her husband and two children, who love her despite her occasional threats to
smite them. They humor her and let her think she's a goddess. . . as long as
she provides homemade chocolate chip cookies on a regular basis. Brynn is
president of her local chapter of Romance Writers of America and also hosts a
weekly writing critique group. She's conducted workshops at several writers'
conferences around the country as she enjoys mentoring and meeting new people.
According to Brynn, her
writing success can be attributed to an eclectic collection of music, her local
road construction crews, a trusty notebook, and of course, her husband, Mr.
Inspiration, who puts up with a lot in the name of research. Brynn loves to
talk to her readers and can be found at www.brynnpaulin.com.

Series Connection: Cruentus
Dragon's Blood is the first
in a new series by author Brynn Paulin about a race of dragon shifters at war
with Djinn and Elvish. The two clans will do anything to defeat the Dragons,
even try to kill as many of the Dragon mates as they can.
Janos is a dragon shifter
and elder of the Cruentus clan. Riding on the subway in New York he finds a
dragon mate in trouble and rescues her from a Djinn assassin. When he realizes
the woman he saves is his mate he will do everything in his power to keep her
Scarlett is a pop-star in
hiding. Several years ago she was attacked by the Djinn and nearly killed.
Since then she has been running for her life with no real idea why she is being
hunted. It isn't until she sees Janos turn into a dragon that she begins to see
just what she's up against. Not really knowing who to trust, but feeling a pull
of attraction to Janos she goes with him to get away from the Djinn. How long
can she really trust that he is someone who isn't out to hurt her is something
she questions and no matter how gorgeous he is, she needs to make her own way.
Dragon's Blood is a nice
start to what appears to be a promising series. I found the concept interesting
and the attraction between the two lead characters hot. As with many other
first series books there just doesn't seem to be enough time to get a good read
on the hero and heroine, because the author has to spend so much time telling
the background of the story and other clan members, nevertheless I liked the writing
and story characters. It should be interesting to read the next installment.
The next book is Blood Bought.
For centuries, there have
been legends of Vampires—the fault of one careless dragon. But humans
only know part of the story. Walking amongst us are
Dragons—Shape-shifters who feed on blood.
Reluctant Dragon Elder Janos
Aventech's vacation in New York is about to come to an abrupt end. Riding on
the subway, he stumbles across a Dragon mate—one of the few human women
with whom his people can unite and be truly happy. And his people's enemies are
out to get her. As his attraction to this woman grows, he knows he must find
her mate and see her safely into that man's arms. It's destined. But as every
minute passes in her company, Janos begins to see he'll never willingly let her
go, mate or not.
If only she were his mate. .
On the subway, Scarlett
couldn't stop staring at him—then he turned crazy. When he essentially
kidnaps her off the train, she knows she should be irate and terrified.
Instead, she finds her initial attraction growing. But what's all this stuff
he's spouting about mates and enemies? She only wants to return to her life,
not get caught in the middle of a war. But it's too late for that. She's
destined for a Dragon's bed, and in Janos' arms, she can only hope it's his.

Accomplished' by Brynn Paulin Writer, Emily Harteger has been at loose ends her
entire life, never quite fitting in anywhere she's gone. She finds her place in
the past amongst the knights and maidens she creates on paper. When a story
idea comes to her in a dream, she's drawn to the shores of Northern England
where vivid pictures fill her head . When she meets Alec Woods, the very
embodiment of the man she's visualized in her dreams. Her visions of the knight
and his love grow stronger and she wonders if the attraction she feels for Alec
is real or the product of her wishful dreaming. Then she finds a bottle
containing a necklace and note identical to one she's written about in her
book. . . Is this fantasy or something else entirely?
My View: I
picked out this book to read because over the past year author Carol Lynn has
become one of my favorites. I like her wit and style of writing. She didn't let
me down with her inclusion in this book. Over all I liked the concept of the
story. All of the stories are connected as each book tells the tale of a couple
who has found the bottle, the message and the necklace that the first story
tells about. The stories were good, the sex scenes fun and imaginative and kept
me entertained. What I liked the most was the variety of stories. Each with
their own theme. My biggest complaint with the anthology, however, was the
number of type-os in the story. Usually I don't worry about them, but there
were quite a few and it became distracting. The story was published out of
England, so some words are naturally spelled different. I'm used to those,
since I've read quite a few books from over sees. The other type-os were an
issue for me though. Also, I can only guess the meaning of the end of the first
story. I'll leave it at that so I don't ruin the story for readers.
